Abstract

Early childhood development is understood as a continuous reciprocal process with the environment. Early childhood lays the foundation for social and emotional development which then has an impact on the child's mental and physical health into adulthood. Social and emotional development in these children can be supported by the integration of the physical and sensory environment in PAUD. One alternative education that focuses on the development of children as individuals and also the environment is Montessori education. Montessori education seeks to make abstract knowledge more concrete, easier to put into practice, and more physical. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the implementation of Montessori education in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a systematic literature review. The database used was Google Scholar with the Publish or Perish tool and produced 14 articles as research data. The results of the research show that the implementation of Montessori education in Indonesia has several paths, namely curriculum creation, observation, planning, implementation, supervision and assessment with the teacher's role as observer and facilitator.
