Publication Ethic Statement

JECED: Journal of Early Childhood Education and Development is a peer-reviewed journal, available in print and online and published in June and December each year . This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing a manuscript in the JECED Journal, including authors, editors and reviewers. This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of a manuscript is very important to note regarding its ethics, this is also included in the JECED Journal. JECED Journal publishes manuscripts of empirical analysis from various reliable sources. This is important for the development of science to be implemented in the development of education in a country. Thus, a coherent and respected network of knowledge needs to be carried out in the Ethical Guidelines for Journal publications. It is a direct reflection of the quality of work of the authors and the supporting institutions. Manuscripts in the JECED Journal are peer-reviewed to support and realize the scientific method. It is then essential to agree upon expected standards of ethical behavior for all those involved in the act of publishing, i.e. authors,

The Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program of the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel as the publisher of the JECED Journal takes its guardianship duties beyond all stages of publishing very seriously and we carry it out with ethics and other responsibilities. The Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program is committed to ensuring that broadcasting, reprinting or other commercial revenues have no impact or influence on decisions that are editorial in nature.

Publication decisions

The JECED editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. Before publishing both Online and in Print for the JECED Journal, the Chief Editor who is in charge of publishing asks for input from other editors as well as support for suggestions from reviewers. Where it is also based on a series of journal publications starting from submitting manuscripts, checking editors, checking reviewers, checking layouts, checking plagiarism and copyright. This is under the supervision of the Chief Editor and other Editors with the authority, so that the publication decision for the manuscript in the JECED Journal appears.

Plagiarism Screening

Basically, the writer's job is only to submit manuscripts that are free from plagiarism and academic malpractice. Editors double-check each article before it is published. The first step is to check plagiarism against the offline database developed by JECED, and the second step is to check plagiarism against as many online databases as possible.

 Fair play

Editors at all times evaluate the manuscripts for their intellectual content regardless of the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff may not disclose any information about the manuscript submitted to anyone other than the respective authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisors and publishers, as appropriate.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Unpublished material disclosed in the submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviews assist editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also assist authors in improving article manuscripts.

Promptness

JECED journals are very concerned about the timeliness of publication and information on authors. Every manuscript that is submitted to the JECED Journal is informed to the authors and reviewers for the process as its basic provisions. If the reviewer does not carry out their duties on time, the editor takes the decision to replace another reviewer with higher quality. In order to keep the speed of publication time consistent as specified.

Confidentiality

JECED Journal is hosted by the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program with the assistance of expert editors and reviewers. Every incoming manuscript is kept strictly confidential by the editors, reviewers and publishers. Given the blind-reviewer system, each manuscript entered into a reviewer can only discuss the content of the manuscript with the editor and writer.

Standards of Objectivity

Every manuscript submitted to the JECED Journal, editors and reviewers are required to evaluate the manuscript based on the established standards. However, comments from editors and reviewers need to respect the author. As well as reviewers are required to be consistent in their decisions and recommendations to editors and writers.

Acknowledgment of Sources

The reviewers are required to pay attention to every source that comes from all manuscripts submitted to the JECED Journal, where the manuscript is sent by the author through the editor. Every source needs to be known for its truth and accuracy, and be acknowledged through a list of trusted references.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Specific information or ideas obtained through peer-reviewed reviewers must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with authors, companies, or other institutions with which the research is linked. 

Duties of Authors

Reporting standards

The author of the original research report must present an accurate report of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data must be represented accurately in the manuscript. A text should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. False or intentionally inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if authors have used the work and / or words of others that these have been appropriately quoted or cited.

Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication

When an author submits a manuscript for publication in the JECED Journal, the author is not allowed to send the manuscript to other publishers. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.

Acknowledgments of Sources

Every manuscript submitted by the author to the JECED Journal is obliged to provide acknowledgment of appropriate sources and is able to add value to the manuscript, all such acknowledgments must be clearly listed on the list of references.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorities should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the research reported in the manuscripts submitted to the JECED Journal. Authors listed in the manuscript have a responsibility to register second authors or other authors posted with the review process. If accepted, all authors are required to provide a signed statement that the research work is their original research work.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest in their text that may be interpreted to affect the results or interpretation of their text. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.

Fundamental errors in published works

When an author finds a significant error or problem in a published work, the author is obliged to immediately notify the editor or journal publisher and work closely with the editor to withdraw or correct the research.
